Angelina Jolie Blamed Brad Pitt to Violence Her and Their Children
Angelina Jolie has claimed that her ex-partner, Brad Pitt, assaulted her along with two of their children when they were traveling in a private jet.
Ms. Jolie has claimed in court documents that Mr. Pitt grabbed her by the head and shook her before choking one of their children and striking another when they tried to defend her while the family was flying back to California from their residence in France. The incident allegedly occurred while the family was returning from France to California.
Ms. Jolie’s claims were vehemently refuted by a spokesperson for Mr. Pitt, 58, who was not authorized to comment publicly but did so anyway. This official termed Ms. Jolie’s claims “another rehash that only damages the family.”
The allegations of abuse were brought to light for the first time in the days that followed the flight; however, the specifics were not disclosed in the divorce documents, and both the FBI and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services determined that there was no need to take any action against Mr. Pitt.
Following a proceeding that took place behind closed doors and during which the charges were discussed, Mr. Pitt was granted shared custody of the children. After further consideration, an appeals court decided that the verdict should be overturned because the private judge had failed to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
According to the court document, which was originally reported on by the New York Times, on September 14, 2016, Ms. Jolie, Mr. Pitt, and their six children were traveling from the vineyard known as Chateau Miraval to Los Angeles.
“Pitt’s hostile behavior began even before the family got to the airport, with Pitt having a dispute with one of the children. When the family finally arrived at the airport, Pitt continued his aggressive behavior. According to the documents, after the plane had already taken off, Jolie went up to Pitt and asked him what the matter was. “Pitt accused her of being too subservient to the youngsters and verbally abused her,” “Pitt accused her of being too deferential to the children.”
The following is added: “He dragged her into the restroom and immediately started shouting at her. After shaking Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt took her by the head and shook her, then grabbed her shoulders and shook her once more before forcing her against the wall of the restroom.
According to the countersuit, Mr. Pitt responded angrily when one of the youngsters, who ranged in age from eight to fifteen at the time, verbally supported the Academy Award–winning actor and filmmaker, who is now 47 years old.
“Jolie reached around and grabbed Pitt from behind in order to prevent Pitt from attacking his own kid. According to the lawsuit, in an effort to remove Jolie off his back, Pitt flung himself backwards into the seats of the airliner, causing Jolie to suffer injuries to her back and elbow. “The children ran in, and they were all very valiantly trying to shield each other from the danger. Before it was through, Pitt had strangled one of the kids and punched another one in the face.

According to the statement, Mr. Pitt reportedly proceeded to pour beer on Ms. Jolie before also pouring beer and red wine on their children.
After the occurrence, Ms. Jolie provided two FBI agents with her version of events about the flight. It was included in a report that was subsequently made public by the casting agency and included a photo of the actress’ hand with a “rug-burn like injury.” The report had been significantly censored before it was made public. In it, she said that she had witnessed Mr. Pitt have two to three cocktails, but that he remained coherent and was not visibly inebriated.
According to the report, following the meeting between the investigators and the federal prosecutors, “it was decided by all parties that criminal charges in this instance would not be pursued due to many considerations.”
According to a statement released by the FBI, the agency “has completed an analysis of the facts and will not pursue further inquiry.”
During their 12 years together, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were one of the most famous couples in Hollywood and earned the nickname “Brangelina.”
Before Ms. Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, they had been living together as a couple for ten years prior to their wedding in 2014.
In 2019, a court granted them a divorce and proclaimed them to be single, but the divorce is not yet complete since custody and financial concerns are still being contested.
