Jeffrey Dahmer’s Life – Who was him?
Dahmer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1960 to a scientist father and a teletype machine teacher mother. Although it has not been verified that Dahmer was neglected as a youngster, there appears to have been no shortage of family turmoil. It was well knowledge that his mother frequently quarreled with both her husband and the others who lived around them. She was depressed and had tried suicide before, and his father was gone at college for most of his youth. Dahmer’s parents split up when he was 18 years old.
Before Dahmer had hernia surgery at the age of three, he was a “active and cheerful youngster.” His professors noted that he was a quiet student, and one of them recalled seeing early warning signs of desertion in him.

Dahmer’s fascination in skeletons and other remains of animals likely began when he was a little boy and witnessed his father sifting through the dirt and debris under the house to find a fox skull. He began amassing bug specimens and tiny animal bones (including those of squirrels) to preserve in formaldehyde. Dahmer began collecting road kill after his father taught him to bleach and preserve animal bones so he could dissect them and add them to his collection.
Dahmer did not fit in in his high school. He referred to alcohol as his “medication” and drank excessively in front of his peers. His instructors said he began acting out and making fun of students who had cerebral palsy.
Dahmer dated another boy briefly when he was a teen, but his parents didn’t suspect he was homosexual. Later, he acknowledged that he had fantasized of dissecting a subservient male lover.
Jeffrey Dahmer’s Brother David Dahmer
David Dahmer, Jeffrey’s younger brother, was born to his parents Lionel and Joyce in 1966, making him six years younger than Jeffrey Dahmer. His older sibling came up with the name.
It is reported that Jeffrey Dahmer was severely impacted by the introduction of David, and that he resented David for taking up his parents’ love and attention. David is more extroverted than his more reserved older brother, although Lionel assured Larry King in 2004 that the two “enjoyed themselves as brothers” despite their differences.
In the spring of 1978, after his parents had chosen to split up, David and Joyce went to live with Joyce’s grandparents at Wisconsin, but Jeffrey Dahmer stayed in the family home. Dahmer’s murder spree started soon after.

The revelation of Jeffrey Dahmer’s misdeeds caused David to withdraw from public life, prompting him to adopt a new name and persona. He distanced himself from the relatives by declining to participate in stories about his older sibling.
Shari Dahmer, David’s stepmother, said that he had established a family and job in an interview she gave to Larry King in 2004.

When Jeffrey Dahmer Arrested
After luring Tracy Edwards returned to his home on July 22, 1991, Dahmer was arrested by authorities. Dahmer had the 32-year-old guy shackled, but he broke free and alerted two police officers who had been passing by.
The police officers went back to Dahmer’s residence.
