Erling Haaland and Foden were Heroes of the Match
On Sunday, Manchester City defeated Manchester United by a score of 6-3 in a game that was played in the Premier League. Erling Haaland and Foden both scored a hat trick in the victory. In the Manchester derby, Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne tore the United squad apart, which allowed City’s offense to have a feast. City were in full flow from the beginning to the end of the match.
Antony would score a consolation goal for the Red Devils in the second half, but it would not be enough to launch a comeback given that they were already behind by four coming into the interval. The match began with Cristiano Ronaldo sitting on the bench, and he remained there throughout the whole contest as an unused substitution. Anthony Martial was the hero for the away team, scoring two goals, including one from the penalty spot.
Manchester City vs. Manchester United Goal Moments – Haaland and Foden
As a result of his recent goal, Haaland has now 14 goals to his name in the Premier League, and he has scored in each of City’s last eight matches across all competitions. The Norway international is also the first player in the history of the league to score a hat trick in three consecutive home matches, making him the first player ever to accomplish this feat.
City is now the only club in the league that has not yet suffered a defeat, and they have closed the gap to just one point behind Arsenal in the overall standings. This Manchester derby was also the one with the most goals scored in its whole history thanks to the nine that were scored throughout the game.
Jack Grealish may not have scored any goals or recorded any assists in the game, but the confusion he caused for Manchester United with his dribbles was well worth it. Grealish made sure that he and Foden would have plenty of space to operate by drawing a yellow card from Diogo Dalot less than two minutes into the match. This ensured that the defender would be cautious while giving the United fullbacks fits. Due to the fact that he was already on a yellow card, Dalot was unable to get close enough to an attacker to prevent City from scoring their first goal, which came off of his side.
Tyrell Malacia was shown a yellow card for taking Foden to the ground in the first quarter of the game, and he was eventually replaced by Luke Shaw during the halftime break. Pep Guardiola is not going to be thrilled that his team gave up the clean sheet in the second half, but both of Martial’s goals came after City made four replacements, so the score does flatter United in a performance that was lackluster on their end.
